Another man is held for the murder of Amarnath Bissoon
A third man appears in court to answer the charge of murder in the killing of Amarnath Bissoon.
Bissoon, 39, of St. Augustine, was at his home with a relative, when persons demanded entry. Upon opening the door, four armed men, announced a robbery and ordered Bissoon to hand over his jewelry and other valuables.
During the invasion, the victim was shot several times and died at the scene. The men then made their escape in a white Nissan Tiida motor vehicle.
Garcia, was arrested by officers of the Chaguanas Police Station, last Thursday, while police constable Kevon Jack, a special reserve police officer, of Malick, Barataria, and Nicholas ‘Nicco’ John, 42, of Kelly Village, Caroni, were charged for Bissoon’s murder, a day earlier.
Garcia, a 28-year-old labourer, of Madras Road Extension, Cunupia, was also charged with robbery with aggravation on Monday following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC.
He appeared before a Tunapuna Magistrate on Tuesday to answer the charges.
Investigations were supervised by Insp. Andrew Lawrence and Sgt. Hezron Lynch, of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region 2, while Cpl. Daryl Seecharan, also of HBI Region 2, laid the charges against Garcia.
